This camp was unprecedented in that it was a combined camp with another school. The idea was conceived after a visit to John Marsden’s Candlebark School in Victoria in late 2011 and was almost 12 months in the planning. It was a huge leap of faith for John who sent his students and staff to Tasmania, for us as teachers and for our school committee and community who supported us with this exciting adventure.
We had a fantastic camp. It was very rewarding to hear on the way home, ‘That was the best camp EVER!’ from our tired, dirty and happy kids.
The success of the camp would not have been possible without the valuable work of the Candlebark team and our team of teacher aides, parents and past Cottage School students. Huge thanks of gratitude to you all.
